Otiende Amollo Comments on ODM MPs Changing Sitting Position in Parliament

Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo on Tuesday morning refuted talk that MPs allied to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will change their sitting positions following the deal struck by NASA leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The legislator was responding to Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi who had aimed a sly dig at lawmakers allied to the opposition.

"We will not change our sitting position and shift to the Jubilee side.

"What my colleague (Wamatangi) is not getting is that the talks between the President and Odinga were not parliamentary," stated Amollo during a morning show on NTV.

The MP further reiterated that no deal was struck but there was 'an agreement to have a deal.'

He also stated that if the agreement between the two is actualised, changes might be made to the Constitution.

Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday asked National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals to relent on their hardline positions against former Prime Minister Odinga.

DP Ruto explained that the meeting between President Kenyatta and the Opposition chief was for the common good of the country.

He further extended an invitation for collaboration to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

"The journey to unite Kenyans began in Nakuru with President Kenyatta and me in 2013.

"What happened on Friday was a culmination of that effort of bringing Kenyans together," stated the DP.
