Phillip Etale Accuses Barrack Muluka of Giving Daily Nation Misleading Information About ODM

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Communications Director Philip Etale on Wednesday revealed the man he claims is behind Daily Nation's misleading information about the party affairs.

Posting on his Twitter account, Etale claimed that Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Barrack Mulka was the guilty party.

"I have credible information that one @BarrackM is the one who has been giving wrong information to the @dailynation hence the misleading headlines," he tweeted.

He, further, disclosed that he had also tried to dup the Standard newspaper, but "they refused to buy his narrative."

According to Etale, journalists and editors at Nation Media Group (NMG) have been used by Muluka to propagate lies and mislead the public.

However, speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on the allegations raised by Etale, Barrack Muluka exclaimed: "I cannot demean myself by responding to Etale. It is not a matter of defending myself as I have nothing to defend myself from."

Additionally, he noted: "When ODM wants to engage with me on anything, let them send my equal. Etale is not my equal."

On Tuesday, ODM urged Daily Nation to issue an apology to the party having published two stories with misleading information.

Speaking during a presser after their Parliamentary Group forum, Siaya Senator James Orengo called on the media to ensure that they report discussions and deliberations of any meeting accurately.

Highlighting the headlines used by the publisher on Monday and Tuesday consecutively, Orengo directed: "For the Nation, two headlines in a row. Completely giving a different picture. You owe it to us to put that state of affairs clear and apologise."

Last week Mr Etale also accused Muluka of lying to Kenyans after he alleged that NASA leader Raila Odinga had duped his fellow principals in the coalition during the swearing-in.
