ODM Accuses ANC's Barrack Muluka of Lying to Kenyans

ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale on Thursday responded to claims that NASA leader Raila Odinga duped his fellow principals in the coalition during the swearing-in.

This comes after ANC Secretary General Barrack Muluka, during an interview on Citizen TV, claimed that Odinga instructed Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula to switch off their phones as he would communicate via a foreign number.

"When you have your phone switched off, you effectively become INCOMMUNICADO. Therefore, you cannot receive any phone call or text message not even from a foreign number.

"There is no way you can switch off your phone and expect a phone-call from a foreign number. No way," wrote Etale.

Etale further claimed that Muluka, lawyer PLO Lumumba and the host Jeff Koinange were overheard by Royal Media Services crew noting they would deconstruct ODM.

"I have been informed by a staff at RMS that prior to the disgraced tv show #JKLive, the 3 gents met at the waiting room just before news & one was heard saying, "Leo tutanyorosha hao watu kabisa" (Today we'll teach them a lesson).

"They all laughed as the host responded "You have time for that," stated Etale.

Several narratives of the event have been shared, including another by former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale who divulged details of a secret meeting on the eve of the swearing in.

Khalwale revealed that Odinga hosted a dinner that was attended by former Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo.

According to the politician, Mr Obasanjo had been sent by United Nations Secretary-General AntĂłnio Guterres to advise the NASA co-principals against proceeding with the oath-taking.

"It was agreed that they were not going to take the oath. I believe that message was then conveyed to the Jubilee side by Obasanjo and this is why they withdrew police.

"People asked where was Wetangula, where was Mudavadi, where was Muthama and Khalwale...we were waiting for the Prime Minister (Odinga) to join us in talking to the country because the swearing in would not be there," revealed Khalwale.
