Victoria Kimani Accepts Upcoming Rapper's Challenge, Now Has to Pay Up

Kenyan songstress Victoria Kimani will have an upcoming rapper from Kisumu, Gabiro Mtu Necessary, curtain-raise her tour after he managed to beat an online challenge Victoria had accepted on Twitter.

Gabiro took to the platform to ask Victoria whether, for 1,000 retweets, he could curtain raise for her when she performs in Kisumu as part of her ongoing nationwide tour.

"Hey @VICTORIA_KIMANI ! Will you allow me to open the stage for you in Kisumu for #SafariTour if this tweet gets 1k RTs?" he posed, also sharing a link to one of his music videos.

Victoria accepted the challenge, and the tweet had garnered well over 1,100 retweets at the time of going to press.

Kenyans on Twitter rallied around Gabiro, with famous personalities such as sports journalist Carol Radull and DJ Kriss Darlin asking netizens to back the young rapper.

Once it was clear Gabiro was past the mark, Victoria confirmed that he would indeed perform in Kisumu when her tour makes its way there.

However, she disclosed that they had decided to let Gabiro perform when his tweet only had 30 retweets.

"Haha I can’t lie ! @mtunecessary was Already approved to Perform at the #safarikenyatour after just 30 retweets! Now he is at over 1000!

"The guy is a Star. It’s so dope to see all the support online for A young Kenyan Artist BY other Kenyans! We are destined for GREATNESS," Victoria wrote.

Gabiro thanked all those who supported him, stating: "I am grateful to each one of you who made this possible for me to be on @victoriakimani 's #safarikenyatour
I could not post and tag all of you but trust me from the deepest part of my heart I am very grateful and wish I could meet you all and tell you this in person."
