Ford-Kenya Announces Next Move After ODM's Attempted Removal of Moses Wetangula

Ford-Kenya has announced what it plans to do following the attempted removal of Moses Wetag'ula as Senate Minority Leader by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) senators.

Deputy Party Leader Boni Khalwale spoke to Kenyans.co.ke on Thursday and revealed that the party leadership would quickly organize a meeting to discuss the planned ouster.

"The party structures will meet and have a discussion on this.We will announce the way forward as soon as possible," he stated.

16 ODM Senators had attempted to oust Wetangula from his position and replace him with his Siaya counterpart James Orengo.

Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, however, suspended his removal stating that it should be effected once his replacement is officially elected.

ODM had written to Lusaka seeking Wetangula's removal on grounds that ODM is the biggest minority party in the house.

Ford-K has 1 Senator while ODM has 20.

Wetangula has since responded to his removal, and stated that a divorce of National Super Alliance (NASA) affiliate parties would be 'noisy and messy'.

“All the appointments in this House came from the PG of NASA and not from ODM. NASA is a coalition.

“In terms of the Senate, there is no party called ODM, If anyone wants a divorce, it will be noisy, it will be messy,” he declared.
