How DP William Ruto is Sabotaging President Uhuru Kenyatta's Legacy - MP Explains

Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi on Monday accused deputy president William Ruto of sabotaging President Uhuru Kenyatta's historic pact with Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

According to the MP, DP Ruto's focus on 2022 succession politics will defeat the purpose of the truce struck between the two political rivals.

"He is already out there making promises to Kenyans even before he delivers those made last year.

"Ruto must stop the campaigns and focus his energy on supporting reconciliation started by President Uhuru and Mr Odinga," the MP stated.

MP Amisi went on to urge the deputy president to make efforts toward accomplishing the promises made to Kenyans during the 2017 political campaigns.

"We need to have honest leaders to accomplish the aspirations of Kenyans.

"We need the country to heal first but this cannot happen under such political environment," MP Amisi elaborated.

The MP cited DP Ruto's numerous trips following the agreement between the president and Mr Odinga where he has endeared himself to the public.

On Sunday the DP concluded a three-day tour to the Coast where a section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leaders endorsed him for president in 2022.

The leaders included Taita Taveta Governor Granton SambojaJones Mlolwa (Voi), Ali Mbogo (Kisauni) and Danson Mwashako (Wundanyi) and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.
