Motorists Urged to Avoid Eastern Bypass Over AP Pass Out Parade in Embakasi

The Nairobi Traffic Department has urged motorists to avoid the Eastern bypass from Cabanas to Ruai.

In a notice issued on Monday morning, the police warned that there would be heavy traffic due to the Administration Police pass out parade taking place at Embakasi Training College.

Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes unless heading to the event which will be presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Through their official Twitter account, the Administration Police Service (APS) assured that they had officers on the ground to assist ease up the snarl up.

They, however, advised motorists to plan accordingly to avoid getting stuck in traffic.

Earlier last week, President Kenyatta presided over the passing-out parade ceremony of 3,969 recruits at the police college.

The recruits undertook a nine-month training under the new police basic training curriculum and were set to join the other officers in the field to serve the country.

Similarly there will another pass out parade on Wednesday after it was rescheduled from it original date on Thursday.

"Kenya Police Service wishes to inform the public that the recruits passing out parade scheduled for Thursday 29/03/2018 at the General Service Unit Training School-Embakasi has been rescheduled to Wednesday 28/03/2018," read a statement by the Police service.
