I Was Drugged and Deported - Miguna Miguna's Statement After Landing in Dubai

Embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna on Thursday morning gave damning details behind his second deportation from Kenya.

The lawyer who had been detained at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) tweeted moments after arriving in Dubai, giving details on how the authorities managed to send him away.

Miguna posted that he was physically assaulted and sedated, only to wake up when the plane had landed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) city.

"I was dragged, assaulted, drugged and forcefully flown to Dubai. I woke up in Dubai and the despots are here insisting that I must travel on to London. I’m sick. I need medical treatment," Miguna posted.

He further named an official who was allegedly sending him threats while insisting that he would only board a plane back to Nairobi.

"A Mr Njihia is threatening me. I need urgent help here. I want to take a flight only to Nairobi. Nowhere else! I’m sick. My ribs and body are hurting all over. This is a travesty of justice!" he exclaimed.

The immigration department proceeded to deport Miguna despite three orders from the High Court that had directed them to release him.

A video was later shared of the lawyer after arrival at Dubai where he was seen engaging in a scuffle with airport authorities.

A worn-out Miguna repeatedly told the attendant that he was ready to die as he proceeded to make a call.
