Miguna Miguna Deported Again

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has been deported for the second time after he was forced to board a Dubai-bound flight on Wednesday night.

Reports indicate that the plane carrying him touched down at the Dubai airport at around 5 am on Thursday morning.

Otiende Amollo, a member of Miguna’s legal team, disclosed that the vocal activist was flown out of the country on Emirates flight EK 722.

Breaking the news, the Rarieda Member of Parliament (MP) stated: “So they have assaulted lawyers, defied the Court and deported Dr Miguna.”

“I feel helpless and angry as an advocate! Useless as an MP and angry as a Kenyan!” The renowned lawyer tweeted summing up his experience following the standoff that saw Miguna spend over 72 hours at the JKIA.

The decision to deport Miguna on an Emirates flight was allegedly informed by the fact that he arrived at JKIA aboard an Emirates flight EK19 on Monday at 2:30 PM from his earlier deportation to Canada.

The deportation at 11 pm on Wednesday came a few hours after the government was ordered to produce him unconditionally at the High Court.

Reports by The Star quoted his lawyer Cliff Ombeta indicating that Miguna was missing from the infamous toilet on JKIA Terminal 2 where he was allegedly being held until his deportation.

The Canada-based lawyer had successfully aborted an earlier attempt to deport him after the Captain refused to accommodate the “hostile passenger” onboard.

“How am I gonna go to Dubai? I don’t live in Dubai, I don’t work in Dubai, I have no connections in Dubai. So I’m not going to Dubai,” Miguna protested to the Captain during the earlier dramatic attempt to eject him from the country.
