Gov't Move to Re-Deport Miguna Miguna Fails as Airline Rejects 'Hostile' Passenger

An attempt by immigration officials to re-deport self-styled National Resistance Movement (NRM) General Miguna Miguna on Monday night failed after an Emirates Airlines captain rejected the hostile passenger, with chaotic scenes witnessed at the Jomo Kenyatta International (JKIA) Airport.

Following a nine-hour stand-off at the airport after the Goverment rejected Miguna's return to Kenya from Canada, they attempted to re-deport him to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

A defiant Miguna would not allow it, declaring that he was not born in Dubai and neither did he have any relatives or associates there.

He flatly refused to board the plane, demanding his Kenyan passport and brandishing court orders.

“I am not going anywhere….where is my luggage? Where is my passport? You cannot take me from my country by force,” he barked.

The pilot on flight EK22 was surprised by the chaotic scenes and personally went to hear from Miguna what was going on.

“I’m a Kenyan citizen by birth. These court orders say I must be in this country," Miguna told him.

“So why are they pushing you in?” the attentive pilot asked.

“Because of politics,” Dr Miguna responded. “They are scared of me."

He then proceeded to explain to the pilot why he would not allow him to leave while he was on the flight.

"Now you, as captain, is (sic) not allowed to fly me anywhere against my will," he asserted.

"First of all, I don’t have a passport, secondly I didn’t book your plane, thirdly I don’t have status in Dubai … so how am I gonna go to Dubai? I don’t live in Dubai, I don’t work in Dubai, I have no connections to Dubai. So I’m not going to Dubai.”

"Let them kill me..Let them kill me!" Miguna declared as he decried the assault of journalists by police.
