The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) announced on Thursday the passing of its Deputy Secretary General, Daniel Ole Sambu, who also served as a wildlife protection champion in the country.

In a statement shared by the UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar, the party described Ole Sambu as a key pillar of UDA, highlighting his dedication to democratic principles and his pivotal role in strengthening the party’s grassroots structures.

“It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that, on behalf of the entire UDA Party family, we convey our condolences following the passing of our Deputy Secretary General, Daniel Ole Sambu,” the statement read.

“Ole Sambu was not just a colleague in leadership but a strong pillar of our party, a dedicated democrat who has stood with the ideals of our Party. His strategic insight, unwavering commitment to the growth of our party, and relentless work in building our structures from the grassroots are invaluable.”

UDA extended condolences to Ole Sambu’s family and relatives, pledging support during this difficult period.

“In this moment of immense grief, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and relatives. The UDA fraternity shares in your loss and pledges our support during this most difficult time of grief. We pray that God grants the family strength and fortitude to bear the loss and offer our sincere condolences.”

Just a month ago, Ole Sambu hosted President William Ruto at the Maa Cultural and Tourism festival in Amboseli when he visited the Big Life Foundation stand, for which he served as its national coordinator.

The development comes at a time when the Kenya Kwanza Alliance is still mourning the death of its nominated Member of Parliament, Denar Joseph Hamisi, who died at the age of 56.

Hamisi was nominated to the National Assembly under the Amani National Congress (ANC) party following the 2022 General Election.

On Thursday, Members of Parliament, led by the Deputy Majority Leader, Owen Baya, in the company of the Clerk of the National Assembly, Samuel Njoroge, joined the family, the church, friends, and Kenyans at Ridgeways Baptist Church for the requiem Mass of the late Hamisi.

In Parliament, he served on the Departmental Committee on Sports and Culture, as well as the Select Committee on National Cohesion and Equal Opportunities, where he was praised for his diligence and commitment.

Hamisi was born in 1969 in Kinango, Kwale County, and attended Mombasa Baptist High School from 1984 to 1989, where he took his Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) and Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) Examinations.
