A section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) legislators have hatched a plan to impeach Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Immigration boss Gordon Kihalangwa.
The Members of Parliament led by Alego Usonga lawmaker Samuel Atandi told journalists they were concerned with how the three disregarded court orders, adding that nobody was above the law regardless of circumstances or status.
Atandi argued the High Court had confirmed the three violated the law, by failing to free and produce lawyer Miguna Miguna, and hence there was no need for them to hold office.
"We cannot have lawbreakers in security dockets and expect them to maintain law and order. They better leave before we force them to leave," the legislator stated.

Saboti MP Caleb Khamisi maintained that they would start by summoning the officials to Parliament, to explain why they thought they were above the law before kicking them out of office for gross misconduct.
Khamisi further maintained they would also ensure Matiang'i, Kihalangwa and Boinnet did not get their salaries.
He stated that going forward, they would deal with high ranking government officials who have no regard for the rule of law.
Nominated legislator Godfrey Osotsi stated that the government officials have two options; to resign or be forced out of office.
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna pointed a finger at CS Matiang'i, terming him as the main stumbling block to the newly formed union between opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mathare lawmaker Anthony Oluoch maintained that the Minister must be held accountable for his actions just like any other public servant.
