Raila Meets Devolution CS Wamalwa and Council of Governors

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga is set to meet the Council of Governors led by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru at his Capitol Hill Offices today.

Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa will also attend the meeting that was organised to brief the former Prime Minister on the planned Devolution Conference slated for April 23.

Senate Co-Chair Kangata Irungu will also be in attendance ahead of the conference that will take place in Kakamega.

It will be interesting to see Odinga and Waiguru come face to face as they have been on different sides of the political divide for a long time.

The opposition leader was one of the politicians who called for the former Devolution CS' removal following the NYS scandal and often criticised President Uhuru Kenyatta for protecting her.

However, his recent handshake with the Head of State was meant to bring peace and tranquility to the nation as he promised to work closely with the government for the benefit of all Kenyans.

Leaders within the opposition accused him of 'joining Jubilee' and throwing away what they had fought for as NASA.

Odinga reiterated that the handshake was not a sign that a deal had been struck downplaying it as 'talk of talks' - suggesting nothing concrete had transpired.

His handshake at Harambee House has destabilised the opposition as some NASA-affiliate parties have threatened to form a new coalition.

This year's devolution conference will focus on health, trade and investment, agriculture, infrastructure, urban planning and development.
