A rogue lorry driver trying to flee from police caused a dramatic scene along Limuru Road that lead to multiple accidents involving five vehicles and two pedestrians.
The driver who was caught ferrying charcoal forced police to pursue him from Nairobi to Ruaka as he attempted to escape.
Police stated that the lorry was en route from Nairobi to Kiambu when they attempted to flag him down at around 4 pm.
Kiambaa police Boss Wilberforce Sicharahani added that among the accidents the lorry driver was responsible for was a head-on-collision with a saloon car which was heading to Nairobi from Limuru.

He added that the driver managed to escape on foot but they had tracked down the owner of lorry who would assist in locating the driver.
“Fortunately nobody died but five motorists reported their vehicles were destroyed by the lorry driver, who is still at large,” he explained.
Additional reports reveal that two pedestrians were knocked down while escaping for their safety.
Their condition was however unknown.
Earlie on Saturday, one person was killed in a head-on collision between a lorry and a bus at the Pangani Interchange in Nairobi.
The driver of the lorry died on the spot.

According to witnesses at the scene, the bus veered into a one-way stretch of the road leading to the collision.
