John Mbadi Ordered to Apologise to Homa Bay Nominated MCAs

Suba South Member of Parliament John Mbadi on Monday was ordered to apologise to a section of nominated MCAs in Homa Bay

The county representatives have given the ODM national chairman 48 hours to apologise for his statement that they have no academic qualifications.

"As nominated MCAs in the County Assembly of Homa Bay, we are deeply angered by mheshimiwa Mbadi’s remarks. We’re giving him 48 hours, starting today, to apologise over his insults he made against us, failure to which we will take to the streets against him,” exclaimed Nerea Oketch, nominated MCA.

The ultimatum comes two days after Mbadi exclaimed: "We have observed that the party nominated a number of MCAs who are not qualified to deliver services.

"Some MCAs were nominated because they were personal assistants to some party officials but they have no idea of their roles in the county assembly,” noted the Minority leader.

Speaking during a fundraiser at Sango Mixed Secondary School in Ndhiwa, Mbadi added that the ODM party would review the nominations rules of MCAs and do away with such unqualified lawmakers.

Led by Ms Oketch, the MCAs declared that they are educated and were duly nominated to represent the interests of Homa Bay residents.

Amondi further stated that MCAs played a vital role in vote-hunting for the ODM party in the last general polls.

The leaders also dared Mbadi to forward names if indeed he thought they were uneducated.

Additionally, they announced that Mbadi's remarks will haunt him until the next general elections and if he fails to apologise, they will campaign against him.
