Why Teachers Believe Wilson Sossion is Behind Deadly Threats

A section of teachers who moved to court to have KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion removed from office told the court they suspect their boss and the Union for threats they have been receiving.

The teachers stated that unknown people have been intimidating them for filing the suit.

Through their lawyers Akello Advocates, the teachers accused Sossion and KNUT of intentionally delaying the course of justice by failing to respond to their case.

The petitioners further noted that the secretary general position is crucial and a person “with divided loyalty” is not fit to hold it since Sossion is a nominated MP.

Kenyans.co.ke contacted Sossion who refuted the claims maintaining that the allegations were serious adding that he might sue the teachers.

"Let them take up such issues with their lawyers. I don't threaten people because I am a very responsible citizen and I believe in the constitution," Sossion stated.

"This is another calculated attempt to get rid of me as the Secretary-General of KNUT and I want to tell them that I am not leaving anytime soon," the nominated MP added.

Sossion further pointed a finger at politicians with vested interest in the Union accusing them of using the teachers to call for his ouster.

"These are fabrications by their sponsors and we shall name them in due time. Some people are not comfortable because the union is now in Parliament and they know we will back teachers regardless," the KNUT boss stated.

Teachers who took the KNUT boss to court argued that their rights to effective representation had been compromised adding that Sossion has diminished capacity and this grossly violates Section 26-1 of the Leadership and Integrity Act.
