Earlier on, the two county chiefs had toured several development projects and programs in the county including Khayega Market, the Teaching and Referral Hospital, Oparanya Care program, and Bukhungu Stadium.

Oparanya is expected to host the Fifth Annual Devolution Conference from 23rd to 27th April 2018 which will assess the achievements made since the inception of county governments.

Among those expected to address the conference is President Uhuru Kenyatta, NASA leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.
