Former Ganze MP Joseph Kahindi Kingi Passes On

Former Ganze Member of Parliament Joseph Kahindi Kingi has passed on while undergoing a medical checkup in India. 

The former Internal Security Assistant Minister was suffering from bile duct cancer.

Mr Kingi is reported to have passed on Tuesday morning.

Kingi served as the Assistant Minister in former President Mwai Kibaki's cabinet for one year. 

He also served the Ganze people for four years. 

Kingi, who was also a member of the National Rainbow Coalition, once served as the Kenya Ferry Director. 

Reports indicate that his body is planned to be flown back to the country on Wednesday. 

Eulogising the former legislator, Ganze MP Teddy Mwambire stated: "For and on behalf of the great people of Ganze Constituency, take this opportunity to convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon. Joseph Kingi Kahindi (who served as the Secretary-General of the KNUT Kilifi Branch, Ganze MP between 2002 - 2007, Director Kenya Ferry Services and later Director Coast Water Services Board) friends, the great people of Ganze and networks for his shocking, unbelievable and untimely demise in India today morning while undergoing treatment.

"Preparations to fly his body in the country are underway. Further details will be shared later. Rest in Peace my beloved friend, cousin and a political colleague," added the lawmaker.

Following Mwambire's statement, Kenyans expressed their condolences with some of them describing Mr Kingi as a "Committed leader, a man of people and people servant."
