Kenyans were on Friday intrigued by the death of Royal Media Services (RMS) owner SK Macharia's son, John Macharia, who was involved in a grisly road accident.

On the topic, "Porsche" netizens could not stop discussing the Porsche 911 that the younger Macharia was driving when he met his death.

The incident was still trending on the topic "John Macharia" on Twitter and emerged as Kenya's most searched topic on Google with over 50,000 searches with the keywords "John Macharia, SK Macharia, SK Macharia Son Dead" and others.

John Macharia was at the top of his career in the financial services industry, having founded the Direct Line Assurance Limited - Kenya's leading underwriter for public service vehicles.

He was in the company of a young woman when the accident occurred, however, she was able to escape with some minor injuries.

John had an accident in 2016 along Museum Hill where he escaped unhurt though he bumped into a Prado with the vehicle he was driving.

At the time he was allegedly booked by police for drunk driving and was later released along with his impounded vehicle.
