SK Macharia's Son Dies in Grisly Road Accident

Royal Media Services owner SK Macharia is mourning the death of his son John Macharia.

The deceased was involved in a grisly road accident along the Southern Bypass.

Reports indicate the accident occurred at around 10 pm Thursday and John died at the Karen Hospital where he was rushed for treatment.

He was also the founder of Triple A Finance and Direct Line Assurance.

In 2016, John was arraigned in court following an accident he caused while drunk.

Appearing before Senior Resident Magistrate Electra Rianyi, he was charged with disobeying traffic police orders when he was directed to blow into a breathalyzer.

He pleaded guilty to the charges through his lawyer, Ian Maina.

He further urged the court to forgive him with his lawyer noting: “he is remorseful for his actions and did not know what was going on at the time. He has vowed not to repeat the offence”.

John, who did not appear in court, was slapped with a Sh25,000 fine.

SK Macharia attended the late Kenneth Matiba's funeral on Thursday in Murang'a alongside other prominent leaders.

He, however, was not called upon to give a speech on how he knew the deceased.
