KANU Secretary General Nick Salat Lashes Out at Duale for Allegedly Attacking Gideon Moi

KANU Party Secretary General Nick Salat on Tuesday lashed out at National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale for allegedly attacking Baringo Senator Gideon Moi over the 2022 presidential contest.

Speaking during the burial of former politician Yano Singei, Salat warned Duale over his remarks where he is claimed to have told the Senator that presidency is not hereditary.

"Our friend Duale should know that there is nowhere KANU and Jubilee are colliding. In 2022, Jubilee have their own candidate and we have our own in KANU and it is the voters who will decide. Now he (Duale) is mentioning names saying this person is someone’s son… I wonder whom did he want to be the father,” Salat noted.

Duale made the remarks on Sunday during the homecoming of Garissa County Executive Member, Issa Yarow

"William Ruto’s father was a peasant and in the next elections it is not who your father is but what you have done to Kenyans [that will count],” exclaimed Duale.

On his part, Gideon urged the leaders who are propagating lies and propaganda against him to cease.

"Have I ever insulted anyone? We are from one family so why is it that you always have to wake up and insult Gideon?” the legislator (Gideon) wondered.

He further added that his opponents should sell their agendas with decorum "unless someone earns an allowance for tarnishing my name".

"Everytime you speak, it is about Gideon, why?" he added.

Additionally, the son of the former President Daniel Arap Moi, announced: "I will still honour the orders and the direction you will ask me to take.”

Duale's remarks were perceived to be directed to KANU party Chairman Gideon Moi as he is claimed to be running up to challenge Deputy President Wiliam Ruto in the 2022 presidential polls.
