Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Barrack Muluka and his Ford Kenya counterpart Boni Khalwale have divulged that the two parties are close to sealing the deal on the formation of a merger.
According to the duo, plans to merge ANC and Ford Kenya parties have been finalised by experts who were selectively and keenly picked.
Speaking to the Standard, Muluka noted that the two leaders, Mudavadi and the Bungoma Senator, are committed to their unity pact.

Muluka exclaimed: "The two leaders are keen on forming a single political party with a national outlook to help galvanise the Western region and appeal to all Kenyans.
"It is an idea that has been carefully thought out and both Mudavadi and Wetang’ula are taking it very seriously,” Muluka added.
He further expressed that he is optimistic that the resolve to bring the parties together will soon be achieved.
ANC Chairman Kelvin Lunani also mentioned that the party remains strong and focused on the merger plans despite complaints from a few disgruntled members.
On his part, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale lauded Mudavadi and Wetangula for their resolve to unite the Western region ahead of the 2022 General Election.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Khalwale noted: "Details will be revealed later."
Speaking to journalists last week, Mudavadi dismissed those branding his party and Ford-Kenya as regional political outfits, claiming the two parties had picked experts to spearhead the merger process had done a good job.
Wetangula reiterated Mudavadi's sentiments urging Kenyans to back the initiative.
