President Uhuru's State Of The Nation Address Dodged by a Poor Sound System in Parliament

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday delivered the State Of The Nation address in parliament - the first since he was re-elected for his second term in office.

His address, however, was overshadowed by the poor state of sound in the National Assembly, an observation which many Kenyans made online.

"Bad Sound System from Parliamentary Press..President @UKenyatta's Voice coming out as if from a deep hole," one user noted.

Most Kenyans lamented that they could not follow the proceedings with the sound some terming it as irritating especially for such an important event.

One Kenyan alerted Citizen TV of the situation: "#StateOfTheNation @citizentvkenya your sound system is horrible. Please fix it. Can't seem to hear what's happening at this crucial point yawa. Do something!"

"Someone stop the #StateOfTheNation till you sort out the poor sound quality issue otherwise will be in vain to anyone outside parliament," another pleaded.

During his address, the president admitted that there had been challenges in using public resources due to wanton corruption.

“There have been some challenges in the youth of public resource, some individuals fraudulently diverting public resources to benefit themselves. My Government is developing tools to fight graft better and make it easier for Kenyans to report.

"The constitution is a tool to craft a Kenya which is fairer, freer, wealthier. Our constitutional order is secure, stable & growing in strength. Devolution is now an established framework," he assured.
