Political analyst Prof Mutahi Ngunyi on Sunday stated that Chief Justice David Maraga and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga should apologize for their role in the 2017 elections that saw the country on the brink of destruction.
In his weekly show the Fifth Estate, the professor and his team from the Fort Hall School of Government opined that CJ Maraga and the Supreme Court had cost the country economically following their decision to annul the presidential election.
"Justice Maraga should admit that he was politically naive then we will forgive him and by Maraga we mean the Supreme court. The decision of the court cost the country Sh 1 Billion every hour during the election process.

"And for the jobs we lost because of their political naivety, the Maraga court should also apologize," the team opined.
They further conveyed that Maraga should apologize to the country and to God as well stating that: "His sins of political naivety cannot be forgiven by man alone."

The team added that they were also expecting an apology from Raila as well.
"We want an unconditional apology, not one where he says, Uhuru, IEBC's Chiloba, Chebukati, US ambassador or the companies he boycotted made him swear himself in and are also to blame," they explained.
Additionally, the Moi family was also urged to seek forgiveness from the country
The Moi family should also apologize. If we forgive Mzee Moi for what he did to people like Kenneth Matiba, the family cannot insult a deputy president and get away with it.
They stated that Deputy President William Ruto being snubbed from seeing the former president showed just how the family felt entitled.
"The Moi family is overrated and insulting a constitutional office like that of the DP is contempt. DP Ruto had nothing to gain from shaking Moi's hand," they explained.
In conclusion, the analysts stated that an apology from Raila and the Moi family should come with a price.
