National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga while in Murang'a for the burial of S.K Macharia's son John Macharia stopped his motorcade to greet residents.

Odinga who was accompanied by Siaya Senator James Orengo greeted school children who were screaming his name.

"Nimekuja hapa kwa SK Macharia na mimi nina furaha kuona watoto wana furaha na mimi nataka kuona watoto wakikunywa soda," the former Prime Minister stated as he handed a stack of money to a man.

The son of the Kenyan media mogul SK Macharia’s son, John Macharia, was reported to have been cremated last week at the Lang’ata Cemetery Crematorium on Tuesday in a session that was attended by his family and very close circle of friends.

John died last Thursday night at the Karen Hospital where he had been rushed to after a freak accident along the Southern bypass.

The deadly accident happened at 11 pm when John, who is said to have been speeding lost control of his Porsche 911 Turbo S 2016 car.

Raila had attended the burial since he has close ties with the Macharia family reportedly to dating back to the 90s.

During an interview in December 2004, the media mogul had divulged he supported Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and even campaigned for him while he faced retired President Daniel Moi during the 1992 Elections.

"At no time had I interest in the media before the 1992 General Elections. I just happened to be a big political adviser and financier of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Presidential campaign,” Macharia disclosed while revealing how his interest in media came to be.

Since then, the relationship between him and the Odinga family continued to blossom and as proof to that, Macharia rallied behind Raila in the 2013 elections as he faced Uhuru Kenyatta.
