Nyali MP Mohamed Ali Offers to Work With Governor Hassan Joho

Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed "Jicho Pevu" Ali extended an olive branch to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho offering to work together with him.

The legislator, who has been Governor Joho's fierce critic since he took up the parliamentary post, argued that it was high time political rivals reconciled.

"I am ready to work with anyone. We will work with anybody so long as the agenda revolves around discussing issues affecting residents.

"We call upon everyone to come on board so that together we can transform lives of the electorates.

"We as leaders must get ready to preach peace, reconciliation and forgiveness in our regions so that together we can soldier on as a country. as for me, I am ready to be an ambassador of peace in my constituency," the MP stated.

He further hit out at politicians who were already championing various leaders ahead of 2022 observing that their ambitions were misplaced.

"Time for politics is over, it is time for leaders to implement their manifestos and ensure that they deliver on their campaign pledges," he stated.

The Nyali member accused Joho and the governor's elder brother Abubakar Ali of poor management of county affairs.

He also accused the governor and his family of plotting to kill him after he won the August 2017 election, trouncing the governor's younger brother Said Abdalla "Saido".

The MP spoke on Sunday after he donated 500 bags of rice to his constituents from Kadzandani area who were displaced by floods.

"The county receives a lot of funding annually but it is painful that we are still being affected by floods due to poor drainage systems.

"More than 100 people have died as a result of floods countrywide, but we have teamed up with county and national governments and other agencies to help those affected," he observed.
