Ekuru Aukot Wants Gideon Moi, MP William Kamket Investigated Over Insecurity

Thirdway Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot on Monday called for Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to be probed in relation to insecurity in Kapedo.

Addressing a press conference where he responded to President Uhuru Kenyatta's State of The Nation (SoTN) address, Aukot maintained that the Head of State should not have praised parliament when they were failing in their mandate.

He called for the National Assembly to probe Moi and Tiaty MP William Kamket who recently claimed that Kapedo was in Baringo, triggering a bitter battle with Aukot.

Aukot linked Kamket to the killings by bandits in the area, describing him as 'a warlord' and accusing him of working for unamed masters.

"We all know that the only way you can be politically relevant is to primitively incite your bandits against Ng'iturkana of Kapedo. That road is coming to an end, especially for you very soon. Watch this space," he tweeted at Kamket.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Kamket stated that Aukot was preparing to run against him in 2022 and was seeking political mileage with his statements.

"Ekuru Aukot is my constituent, he comes from my village. He is being prepared to run against me, I think that's it," he declared.

In his address to the media on Monday, Aukot highlighted key points from President Kenyatta's address to Parliament last week.

Pointing out Uhuru's apology for all the hurtful things he may have said or done, Aukot stated that the President should also have apologised to the judiciary.

"The executive has distinguished itself as having little respect for court orders...The State of The Nation address should have come with an apology for the judiciary," he stated.

He drummed up support for his party's push for a referendum to reduce the size of parliament dubbed 'Punguza Mzigo'.

"This administration under President Kenyatta must get more serious if it cares about our country," he affirmed.
