Nyakundi further claimed that he was supposed to attend to the other four cases at Kiambu later in the day.

The officers have been allegedly trailing the blogger for weeks over his controversial online posts.

Earlier in April, the blogger was arrested and taken to the Muthaiga Police Station following an offensive post on Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

The blogger was detained at the police station with authorities close to the county government revealing that it was unlikely that he would be let out before facing charges in court.

Police sources also revealed that the blogger had been denied bail in the matter where he is accused of insulting the governor through a Facebook post.

The sources conveyed that several people had been summoned to record statements against the blogger at the police station.
