Activist Boniface Mwangi on Thursday advised Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on how to deal with death threats against him after his decision to nominate Miguna Miguna for the Deputy governor position.
Through his social media, the award-winning Kenyan photojournalist referred back to advice he received from former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga.
"Go to the police and give them details, who is planning to kill you and why, then go public. MP George Muchai refused to say publicly who was after him and why, he was murdered. I don't recall Jacob Juma recording a police statement. Don't die with secrets.
"When lawyers CJ @WMutunga @Paul_Muite and @ahmednasirlaw learnt hit squads had been formed to kill them, they made the threats public. If @MikeSonko fears for his life, he should make public the threats. Don’t die silently. Let us know who wants you dead," he conveyed.

A sentiment echoed by senior counsel Paul Muite who stated: "True true; they may still murder you but at least the public will have been alerted on the suspects; the late Robert Ouko regrettably declined advice to go public."
Boniface Mwangi went further to advise the Nairobi Governor to exercise caution in his daily life as anything could be used to end his life abruptly.
"Governor @MikeSonko should watch his back, he isn’t a frequent helicopter user so the likelihood of a chopper “accident” might be reserved for the hustler. To avoid sudden death, Sonko should watch his favourite drink and the many mistresses he told Kenyans he has," he added.
The activist came when he was replying to a comment by a Kenyan online who stated that Sonko had a target on his back following his nomination of Miguna Miguna.
"Sonko differed with Jubilee cartels that were keen on having one of their own as Deputy Governor so that they impeach Sonko thereafter. He nominated Miguna as a shield. Should they impeach him, Miguna becomes Governor. And that is bad!" Abraham Mutai wrote.
The nomination of controversial lawyer and politician Miguna Miguna to take over as Nairobi Deputy Governor has sparked a lot of criticism from leaders and a majority of newsmakers.
