The gift has, however, sparked uproar with some netizens terming it a misplaced priority given that Kenya High School is partially privileged compared to other schools in the country.

Speaking during the equipment hand-over ceremony, the Head of State reiterated his commitment to the anti-graft war: "We are not going to tolerate unethical people. People with responsibility must be ready to serve and not to be served."

Others expressed their disappointment with the looting spree witnessed in the government after the fresh National Youth Service (NYS) Scandal and the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) maize scandal.

Another group expressed disappointment with the rate of unemployment in the country questioning why the government employees retirees to positions that would otherwise be managed by younger people.

In particular, the social media users pointed out the irony in asking the students to work hard whereas they are likely to be met with unemployment on graduation.
