Yemi Alade Bans High Heels in Her Concert

Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade, who is in the country for a concert, has made a demand to Kenyan ladies prior to her show.

Speaking during a press conference at Ole Sereni on Thursday, the MTV award-winning artiste banned ladies who are planning to attend her show from wearing high heels.

"It's going to be very interactive and a lot of dancing, no high heels for ladies, I've banned that.

“My fans should expect the best of Yemi Alade as I'm here to give a show of a lifetime. Come expecting the best there can ever be,” the Africa hitmaker stated.

Alade who flew into the country on Tuesday evening expressed her excitement being back in Kenya.

"It's not my first time in Kenya and it has been exciting, I don't take my fans for granted.

"I'm really grateful for the reception I have received in Kenya, all I can say is I love you and can't wait to see you," she added.

She addressed laws governing artists stating that they should not be restricted to aspects of their art.

"Music is a way for someone to express themselves and I wouldn't really put restrictions on how artists dress because they are expressing themselves. I think artists should be free to do what they want to do because it is how they express themselves.

"You have to pick your inner circle wisely because they are the ones that will stand with you and support you. I have to say that it is the passion that drives me and makes me stay woke, I have many dreams and it is the passion that keeps me going," she explained.
