Chaos Erupts in ODM Meeting in Kakamega

An ODM meeting in Kakamega town ended in confusion after chaos ensued between party members and officials.

The meeting held this week was disrupted by youth who alleged that they had neither been consulted nor duly informed by the party office.

Some officials claimed that they had not been contacted by the national office about the meeting whose agenda they claimed was not to be ‘trusted.’

The meeting was organized by a task force led by one Japheth Okala.

The objective of the meeting was to collect views from members of the public about the future party elections.

The fracas led to the meeting being halted prematurely and postponed to a later date.

Chaos have become an almost common occurrence in ODM meetings for the longest time with several cases being reported.

About a year ago, fracas erupted in a meeting in Migori county after Governor Okoth Obado made his way to the meeting.

Rowdy youth started throwing bottles and hurling insults at him forcing his bodyguards to whisk him away from the meeting.

The most prominent of the incidents happened in 2017 where men dressed in black suit stormed the tribunal meeting roughing up some politicians and destroying party property.
