Search Team of Missing Plane Yet to Start The Hunt

The search team of the missing FlySax plane that disappeared on Tuesday night has divulged that it is yet to start the process of hunting down the plane, attributing the delays to bad weather. 

According to the team, the search might be delayed longer than expected, as the officials also admitted that they have no capacity to conduct a night search. 

Senior County Security officers, led by County Commissioner Boaz Cherutich were held up in a strategic meeting that earlier on Wednesday at Njabini deputy county commissioner's office.

Also present at the meeting was National Disaster Management Unity deputy director Pius Masai.

The meeting was intended to aid the team gather more intelligence in narrowing the scope area of the hunt down.

Reports divulge that in as much as the search had not begun 20 hours after the disappearance of the plane, the government had established a twenty-four-hour command center to coordinate the search.

According to Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) assistant direct Simon Gitau, the last signals from the plane were located around Njabini area and that is where the team will concentrate its efforts once the skies clear.

Currently, there is a heavy presence of armed police officers in Njambini, with four-wheel vehicles waiting to be sent to the forest.

The rescue team plans to use three entrances into the dense Aberdare Forest - Mutubio, Githobokonyi, and Kiburu.

Among those in the plane included: pilot captain Barbra Wangeci Kamau and her First Officer Jean Mureithi while the passengers were Ahmed Ali Abdi, Karaba Sailah Waweru Muiga, Khetia Kishani, Matakasakarai Thamani, Matakatekei Paula, George Ngugi Kinyua, Pinuertorn Ronald, and Robinson Wafula
