Mosa Mixed Principal Samuel Kimanzi Charged With Raping Form 4 Student

Mosa Mixed Secondary School Principal Samuel Matuvi Kimanzi was this week charged with raping a Form 4 student at the institution.

The principal allegedly stormed the girls' dormitories on the night of May 21 for an unexpected inspection.

After the 2 am inspection, he instructed an 18-year old student to follow him.

Kimanzi is accused of taking the girl to a nearby fence where he defiled her.

The traumatized girl, weeping, told her fellow students about the ordeal and they began protests against the principal.

The students boycotted classes and rioted as they demanded that the victim be allowed to contact their guardian.

Police officers arrived at the school in Kitui and arrested the Principal.

Kimanzi pleaded not guilty and was released on a Ksh50,000 bail.

The hearing is set for 22, September 2018.

The case comes even as news of a student being raped at Moi Girls' High School, Nairobi on Saturday night continues to spark outrage.
