Peter Kenneth Changes Tune on Supporting DP William Ruto

Former Presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth has changed his tune on supporting Deputy President William Ruto.

Kenneth has in the past blamed the DP for attempting to "cut him into size" after he lost the Jubilee nomination for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat to Mike Sonko in 2017 forcing him to vie as an independent candidate.

However, the former Gatanga legislator on Sunday hinted reaching a political pact with the Deputy President ahead of the 2022 elections.

Speaking during fundraiser co-hosted with Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi at Kaptinga in Eldoret, Kenneth revealed that: "DP Ruto is my friend. We are age mates and we didn’t know each other because he is DP.

"We must build bridges everywhere. For people who want to genuinely build this country; we must work together to resolve issues affecting Kenyans", he added.

The politician further iterated that he fully supports President Uhuru Kenyatta's bid to unite the country under the 'Building Bridges to a New Kenyan Nation' initiative.

Kenneth further alluded that the mood conveyed by the more than 20 MPs and Senators from Central and Rift Valley present at the occasion was a clear indicator of his political future.

"I was invited for a church function but the politicians have turned it into politics and that is a clear sign of what is ahead.

"You know when there are heavy clouds then the rain is about to fall and as you can see we have very heavy clouds here," Kenneth stated.

He further indicated that Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was among those who knew how they had been working together with the DP and holding numerous meetings.

On his part, Murkomen applauded Kenneth on the decision to join the DP: "The jubilee house is big and we welcome you wholeheartedly."
