Peter Kenneth's Response on Becoming Nairobi Deputy Governor

Former Nairobi Gubernatorial seat aspirant Peter Kenneth has weighed his voice to the debate on the appointment of controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna as Governor Mike Sonko's deputy.

Kenneth who has been away from the public limelight since the last General Election began his message by wishing the Muslim community happy Ramadhan.

"I wish you and your family a blessed Ramadhan Karim. May you find peace and happiness in this Holy Month," Kenneth tweeted.

Following the message, one of his followers enquired if he would take the position of the Deputy Governor were it to be offered to him.

However, Kenneth answered an outright "nope" on the possibility of accepting such nomination.

One user reached out to the former Gatanga MP telling him that "Its time to stand up and show (alternative) leadership that Kenya so desperately desires."

His answer was equally short and precise "I hear you," which hinted an acknowledgment of the leadership challenges facing some sections of the government.

Another user voiced "It's often said that silence is golden but usikimye sana bro! (Don't be too quiet). Pronounce yourself on issues. Let us know where you stand in matters of public concern." as another enquired whether he supported the constitutional amendments being pushed for by some of the leaders.

The appointment of Miguna as the third Nairobi Deputy Governor came as a surprise to many.

On his part, Miguna termed the appointment as distractions and sideshows stating that: "Sonko and I have not spoken, met or communicated since our gubernatorial debate in July 2017. I will not comment on malicious information, material or cheap propaganda circulating in the social media."
