Senator Kang'ata Exposes People Wrecking Jubilee

Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata on Tuesday exposed the people he believes are behind the alleged cracks in Jubilee Party.

Speaking on Citizen TV, the Senator accused senior State House operatives to be developing jitters against the Deputy President William Ruto.

According to Kang'ata, there is no bad blood between the DP and his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta as media sources have been alleging.

However, the legislator noted "On one hand, there are no cracks in the relationships between the President and the DP.

Terming the relationship as cordial, Kang'ata indicated that the politicians affiliated to Uhuru were equally committed to supporting DP Ruto's 2022 ambitions.

The MP nevertheless noted that there are "state mandarins and state bureaucrats who are uncomfortable with DP Ruto's 2022 ambitions."

In their view, once the DP assumes power, they foresee that they will lose some trappings of power that they hold by having direct access to the president.

The Murang'a legislator, however, faulted his colleague Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen who has raised alarm over the alleged cracks in Jubilee.

"The only problem that I have with Murkomen is why raise a fracas? This opposition by state mandarins is natural and always happens whenever there is a transition," he quipped.

Kiminini Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa Wakhungu on his part, however, opined that the fallout in Jubilee was imminent.

Quoting the celebrated author Chinua Achebe, Wamalwa concluded: "When the centre cannot hold, things fall apart."
