How to Check KPLC Electricity Bill Online

Kenya Power Company (KP) has introduced an electronic bill service intended to aid their customers to check electricity balance and bill efficiently, unlike in the past where one had to receive the bill balance once every month. 

For one to be able to access this efficient service, all you need is a mobile phone or an internet connection to enable you get the information through an SMS or email.

How e-bill SMS service works:
The E-bill SMS service allows you to query your electricity account balance and bill due date using your mobile phone. 

You will be required to type only the first part of your account number in the phone message field, for example, if your account number is 998877-01, just type 998877.

Then send this message to 95551.

In a few seconds, you will receive an automatic reply with your account balance details.

Using the service will cost you Ksh5 above the normal SMS rates.

How E-bill email service works:

The E-bill e-mail service enables you to check your electricity account balance and bill due date via e-mail. 

Like the SMS, you will be required to only type the first part of your account number in the subject field, for example, if your account number is 998877-01, just type 998877.

Then email the blank message to the bill(at) kplc.co.ke and within a few minutes, you will receive an automatic reply with your account balance.

Besides checking the balance through one's SMS and email, a Kenya Power customer can also easily check their balance through their website. 

How to check your balance through the Kenya Power website:
 

One has to access the website online through their address kplc.co.ke

You are then required to click the tab labeled: My Bill which will redirect you to another tab where you may be required to fill in your personal details for a KPLC online account.

However, if you don't intend to create an account, all you will be needed to do is click on the first tab on your right titled: Bill/Meter Query



This will then redirect you to another tab where you will need to fill in your account number, click search and within seconds you will get your bill balance. 

Additionally, it is important to note that despite the introduction of e-bill services, your detailed electricity bill will continue to be dispatched by KPLC through your postal address.
