Property of unknown value was last week destroyed after another fire broke out at the area's neighbouring Korogocho market.

The inferno follows other fire cases that have happened in the recent past, including one that happened at Gikomba market.

The Gikomba fire, which caught president Uhuru Kenyatta's attention, let at least 15 people dead with 74 others admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital after most of them suffering burns following the fire break out.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko had called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to lead in the investigations to establish the cause of the fire that rendered many traders jobless.

Sonko was responding to an instruction issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta after the incident, which called on the county government to establish the cause of the fire.

In a statement issued to newsrooms, Uhuru stated: "The national Government and Nairobi County will sit together for a full review of our emergency services, and our disaster preparedness. We owe the victims, and the people of Nairobi, a clear, credible plan to end these fires."
