A group of University of Nairobi students are on the run after a Friday night attack on Kenyatta National Hospital staff.
According to the facility communication boss Simon Ithae, more than 10 UoN students took two of their injured female colleagues to the facility for treatment.
“A group of students on Friday night caused a commotion at the accidents and emergency section at around 8 pm. They had brought two of their colleagues for treatment and demanded immediate treatment away from the usual procedures,” confirmed Mr Ithae

Those arrested by police at the KNH police post were on Monday presented before Milimani law courts while the rest escaped after attacking the hospital staff and poured their anger on a number of patients.
Mr Ithae says the students appeared drunk and disorderly when they accessed the facility.
Two computers were destroyed by the students during the ruckus.
“They were harassing everybody, including patients. The students were high and unruly, destroying equipment and broke some computers but the police arrested six of them on Friday,” stated Mr Ithae.
Some of the culprits have been identified as William Nyongesa, George Owuor, Samwel Ogwang, Brian Otieno, Michael Otieno and Ronny Ridaya.
According to documents presented at the Milimani Court on Monday, the students physically assaulted doctors Ali Mahad Mohamud, Ismail Hassan and Namisi Belinda Adda and inflicted actual bodily harm.
Reports alleged that the students were on a drinking spree at a pub in Nairobi when a fight broke leaving two of them injured.
It is at this point that they took their friends to KNH while still drunk causing chaos at the facility.
The suspects are accused of damaging one of the doctor’s spectacles worth Sh.40,000, stealing a mobile phone worth Sh.110,000 and causing disturbance to patients and KNH staff.
