Switzerland President Alain Berset has lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta's efforts, through his administration, in addressing the plight of the refugees.
Speaking during his visit at Kakuma Refugee Camp, Berset thanked Kenya for hosting a large number of refugees from the region.
The Head of State acknowledged that the refugee burden "is not just a Kenyan problem but a global concern."
Additionally, the Swiss President also called on the international community to back Kenya's efforts in catering for the refugees.

Berset affirmed: "There was room for the international community to do more in supporting the Kenyan Government cope with the bulging burden of hosting refugees."
The Kakuma camp and Kalobeyei Integrated Settlement had a population of 185,449 registered refugees and asylum-seekers by the end of January 2018.
Speaking on the President's visit, Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok posted on his Twitter page stating: "With Swiss President Alain Berset and Health CS Sicily Kariuki after a tour of Kalobeyei Integrated Settlement.
"President Berset is the second Head of State to visit Kakuma after then Japanese PM Yoshiro Mori in 2001. On behalf of the Turkana people, thank you Mr President," Nanok concluded.
President Berset’s visit to the Kakuma Refugee Camp comes a day after he held talks with President Uhuru at State House, Nairobi, where the two leaders witnessed the signing of an agreement that will clear the way for the recovery of assets acquired through corruption and crime in Kenya and stashed in foreign countries.
President Berset, who is on a two-day visit to Kenya, termed Kenya’s ties with the Swiss stronger after it opened its embassy in the country last year. He noted that trade had doubled since 2005.
