Kenyan MPs Travel to Russia for 2018 FIFA World Cup Final

A list of about 20 legislators who are set to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup final match has emerged indicating that they may have been sponsored by taxpayers shillings.

Members of the National Assembly who are listed for the trip include Victor Munyaka (Machakos Town) who chairs the Sports committee, Wafula Wamunyinyi ( Kanduyi), Sylvanus Maritim (Ainamoi), and Peter Kaluma (Homa Bay Town).

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga on Wednesday shared photos of herself at the highly anticipated match between Croatia and England.

In the photos shared, Siaya Senator James Orengo was also seen in the background enjoying the match.

Others senators who are reported to have already arrived in Moscow are Cleopha Malala ( Kakamega), Aaron Cheruyiot ( Kericho) and Judy Pareno (Nominated).

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja had not left the country by Wednesday evening but he was said to be slated for travel before the big Final scheduled for Sunday.

"It is their responsibility to understand sports, how to host such international tournaments. This is not a holiday and it is too simplistic to look at it as a joyrider mission," stated the Senate Clerk Jeremiah Nyegenye who is also the CEO of the Parliamentary Service Commission.
