Siaya County government officials’ residential homes are located between Siaya Stadium and the Narck building, barely 10 Kilometers away from K’Ogelo village.

“I usually park my car at my doorsteps. The only people who live here are county government officials and some of their family members. We only have one gate to the compound but I could not find my car in the morning when I woke up at 4 AM,” stated Mr Ater.

Mr Ater reported the loss of his car to Siaya police station at 5:20 AM under OB No. 02/15/07/2018. The officers at the station told him that they would circulate the information and details of the missing vehicle.

He says at around 7 AM on Sunday, he had reported the incident to Ugunja and Luanda Police stations.

The officers on duty at Ugunja and Luanda police station told him that they had not been notified of the incident even after those at Siaya police station stated they would circulate the information.

“I asked traffic police officers on the Luanda-Busia road and they said they had not been notified at that time. I had asked the officers to help investigate and assist track my car,” frailed  Mr Ater.

The reports come at a time authorities in Nyanza are keen on policing Kisumu and K’Ogelo village in Siaya from the air, land and Lake Victoria to guarantee the former US President and his entourage safety.

Obama is expected in his ancestral village in Siaya where he is to inaugurate the Sauti Kuu foundation, at least 70km away from the Lakeside Kisumu City.

Elite security teams have been streaming into the area and a number of roads are to be closed in a bid to boost security around Siaya County.
