Barack Obama Makes Thrilling Dance Moves With Mama Sarah Obama

A performance by the beneficiaries of the Sauti Kuu Foundation let former US President Barack Obama thrilled minutes after taking his seat.

The children took it to the podium and danced to the Luo traditional song and both Obama and his sister Auma could not wait.

He made amazing moves while the crowd cheered on and at some point had to resume his seat since Mama Sarah Obama could not join him in enjoying the presentation.

Obama could not hide his love for the song, he clearly extended the easy dance to the seat but moments later, Mama Sarah left her wheelchair.

The two stood to dance together in celebration of the strides made by the Sauti Kuu Foundation.

After taking it to the podium, Dr Auma was clear on her ambition for the project.

She affirmed her commitment to having the community liberate itself from poverty and helping young people.

“I want my community to realize how wealthy they are. They can do things for themselves and don't have to be constantly in a situation where they are grateful to others for what they have. I want to tell Luos that we need to start taking care of ourselves. It is not difficult because we can.” said Dr Auma.

She noted that the area has wealth and with so many people who should not be a worry but instead an opportunity.

Auma went on to state that; “There are so many opportunities and even if you are poor, you can still do something. We want to give people alternatives so that they can have something they can do. We want to give them a perspective so that they can improve their lives.”

Auma had in an interview made remarks that appeared as though she castigated the Luo community for being ‘beggars’, a cold chide that did not go well down to the people on social media.

She, however, insisted that “let us stop the Konya-Gonya syndrome. If you think you are mad at me, come and join me here, let’s work together and I will show you how not to do it.”

During the launch, the former US head of state said the Sauti Kuu foundation launch was a dream come true for his sister Auma.

Obama expressed his hope for Kenyan young people observing that; “A young Kenyan does not have to do what my grandfather did and serve a foreign master, they don't have to do what my father did, leave home to get an education. There has been real progress in this amazing country and it should inspire today’s young Kenyans to demand even more progress."
