A section of leaders from Narok County are demanding for the arrest of Senate Majority Leader, Kipchumba Murkomen.
The leaders called for Murkomen's arrest alleging that the Elgeyo Marakwet's Senator was inciting locals against the Mau Forest evictions.
Narok North MP Moitalel Ole Kenta, Senator Ledama Ole Kina, nominated MP David Ole Sankok and former Nairobi County Speaker Alex Ole Magelo demanded that Murkomen and other leaders who visited the forest to keep off it.
"The language used by Murkomen in the Mau is really a declaration of war between the people living in the foret and interfering with operations," Magelo stated.

Speaking on the issue Ole Kenta maintained that the matter should be addressed once and for all and supported by all the leaders and local communities.
He termed as naive a suggestion by Murkomen that the evictions were engineered by Opposition Leader Raila Odinga following his handshake deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Sankok asked all Jubilee Party MPs to keep off the evictions, with Senator Ledama vowing that they will not be stopped.
During Murkomen's Thursday visit of the vast forest, he suggested that some government officials were working in cahoots with people whose aim was to hurt Deputy President William Ruto’s political image.
Murkomen’s statement in Narok touched a raw nerve at the heart of the Jubilee Party whose interests he champions in the Senate, with Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja criticising him for disrespecting President Kenyatta.

Sakaja maintained that the comments by Murkomen were part of a trend where “senior leaders, including those in leadership, were rubbishing directives from the President”, listing corruption, lifestyle audit and the Uhuru-Raila handshake.
