Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Monday found himself on the wrong side of events after he sent a direct attack at National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi.

The Senator attempted to demean the Suba South Member of Parliament (MP) by boasting of a 38.4 percent forest cover in his county compared to 0.04 percent in Mbadi's county.

Netizens did not take the matter lightly declaring Murkomen's argument moot and his reasoning poor.

Here are some of the comments that were shared on the topic "John Mbadi".

The two leaders had appeared on a Sunday night show on KTN where they debated, among other things, the claim that Opposition leader Raila Odinga was to blame for the Mau Forest conundrum.

Former Kenya Power CEO Ben Chumo trended on Monday after he appeared before the National Assembly Finance and National Planning Committee to be vetted for the position of Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) Chair.

Social media commentators reacted in anger citing that Dr Chumo was in the middle of investigations over a corruption scandal yet he was being vetted for a public office position.
