1 Dead in Accident Involving Nation Journalists on Othaya-Nyeri Road

A boda boda (motorcycle) rider has been confirmed dead following an accident on Wednesday involving Nation Media Group (NMG) journalists at Gachami along the Othaya-Nyeri road.

Two Nation journalists were in a company car along with the driver who is said to have lost control of the vehicle around River Nduyi bridge hitting the motorcycle.

The vehicle the Daily Nation writers were travelling in rolled several times beside the road.

They sustained minor injuries and were taken to Othaya Level 4 Hospital.

An Othaya Yetu News correspondent who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke revealed that the journalists had been covering a story on Muyange Secondary School students.

"There were 2 journalists and the driver. It's like the vehicle lost control.

"The injuries they sustained were not very serious," he revealed.

Ironically, Muyange Secondary students had also been involved in an accident earlier in the day.

Several students were injured in the accident that occured as they headed to school from the Njigari area.

Reports by local journalists indicate that the Nation scribes had been following up on the earlier accident.
