WhatsApp Introduces Group Video Calls for Upto 4 people

Facebook-owned Whatsapp has introduced a new video feature that will allow members to partake in group video chats.

Group video calling allows up to four people to communicate with each other at the same time over the platform.

“You can make a group call with up to four people total anytime and anywhere.

“Just start a one-on-one voice or video call and tap the new "add participant" button on the top right corner to add more contacts to the call,” an official blog post read.

Group calls are end-to-end encrypted which ensures the privacy of the participants.

“We have designed calling to work reliably around the world in different network conditions,” assured the platform.

To access this new feature, one needs to have the latest update of the app.

The new feature was rolled out to all iPhone and Android users on Monday.

WhatsApp first introduced video chatting in 2016 after having launched voice calling in 2014.

The app hosts two billion minutes on calls every day.

The social media platform was created in January 2009 by WhatsApp Inc. and was later acquired by Facebook in 2014.
