Police have launched a manhunt for 5 convicts who escaped from police custody on Wednesday in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County.
The convicts staged a dramatic escape, cutting through a rear window grill before breaking out.
Of the five convicts, three were set to serve 30-year terms for robbery with violence.
The remaining two had been arrested for rape and theft respectively.
Police are yet to reveal details of how the convicts are believed to have come up with the escape plan, with allegations from some quarters that officers facilitated the convicts' daring escape.

In May, two suspects had escaped from Embakasi Police Station in Nairobi County.
With the duo having escaped at night during a shift change at the station, questions were raised on the involvement of police in recent escapes.
