Citizen TV anchor Yvonne Okwara has come out in the defense of KTN's Akisa Wandera over questions of possible poaching to a rival station and her role in the media industry.
One netizen had opined that given the recent mass transfer of journalists across stations including the emotional exit of Betty Kyallo from KTN, Akisa should now stamp her position as a bona fide journalist.
"I think Akisa Wandera is the best to take over #FridayBriefing Segment to replace Betty ama namna gani Wangwana (or what is your take gentlemen)," the tweep by the name Waswah opined.

However, Okwara came to her defence noting that Akisa is a journalist of good standing and has not been living under anybody's shadow.
"Akisa doesn't need to step into anyone's shoes. She's an outstanding journalist in her own right. She's done such a fantastic job so far.
"I can't wait to see what more she will do! We each bring our unique talents to the table. We cannot be like anyone else on the planet," Okwara quipped.
Asserting her position, the Citizen anchor noted it was both wrong and unfair for people to draw parallel comparisons given that people are talented differently.
"I dislike comparisons. I see people individually, how God made them! I love Akisa. She's hardworking, humble, smart," Okwara concluded.
Akisa acknowledged Okwara's sentiments with a simple message: "Thank you, hun".

Another netizen weighed in on the debate: "Somewhere along the way, we stopped recognizing and appreciating people’s talent and brilliance individually.
We started anchoring them to someone more successful and popular. 'You are the new-so-and -so' is supposedly a compliment," the tweep expressed disappointment.
